What will Egypt be like in 5 years? 10 years? It honestly scares me reading people's blogs about the gaining power of the Muslim Brotherhood. It just hit me how real their hold on Egyptian people is. How much their power could change the lives of my family and friends. How uncomfortable it would make me to go back.
But you know what pisses me off? The watered-down, indifferent answers I get when I ask family about it. The people-pleasing answers, Denial, disregard, and a lack of urgency. A complete disconnect from reality.
Ridiculous.

the thing is too, it all goes slowly, a little brotherhood here and little there, suddenly its everywhere. and the thing is, it is the "typical teenage rebellion against what their parents stood for" with peers pushing it, and things like it, and with their parents sometimes on the opposite end of the spectrum it is the perfect outlet for teenage angst. I ask people, will you leave if it gets bad, the answer is yes, but what is bad and when do you know you are there and is it then already too late. sometimes there is nothing you can do excpet wait for the invetiable to happen and then hope it swings back the other way... 5, 10, 15 yaers down the road. Until then. SPEAK UP. Love you girl!
